Mount Malcolm in Mahabaleshwar is truly worth visiting


Mahabaleshwar, a beautiful hill station in Satara district of the Indian state, Maharashtra, welcomes numerous tourists every year to its serene natural surroundings. Sir John Malcolm was among the well-respected governors, who served the British government in India during the nineteenth century. He was greatly impressed by the scenic beauty of Mahabaleshwar during his visit to this hill station in the year 1828. While serving as the British Governor of Bombay, he stayed in a grand mansion that was constructed in 1829 as his residence. Years later, this mansion was named 'Mount Malcolm' in his memory. Even today, the visitors to this historic structure get amazed by its marvellous architecture.
