A quick snapshot of Mahabaleshwar for tourists

With an elevation of more than 1,300 metres above sea level, Mahabaleshwar offers a truly pleasant atmosphere and scenic beauty to its visitors. Once a sleepy terrain, it became extremely popular after the British discovered its potential as a summer destination, and developed this region as a hill resort. Their influence can still be felt at certain places with the presence of heritage buildings dating back to the colonial era.

Air travellers can get to this hill station from Pune Airport with the help of buses, taxis or private vehicles. This airport is located at a distance of about 120 kilometres from Mahabaleshwar. Wather is the nearest railway station, but tourists travelling by trains prefer to alight at Pune Railway Station, as it enjoys better connectivity to the hill station. Excellent bus services are available from neighbouring cities like Nashik, Pune, and Sangli, which makes it convenient for road travellers to reach Mahabaleshwar.

Proximity to most of the tourist spots is one of the major factors that travellers consider before booking an accommodation in Mahabaleshwar for their vacation. The resorts and hotels in this hill station are not only well-equipped with all the modern facilities, but also have some additional amenities to make staying in them a memorable experience.
